Today we give the fourth of five concerts with CHAARTS, this time back in Germany in Lindau. Last night we performed in the reverberant acoustics of Zürich's Fraumünster. I first visited this lovely church over 30 years ago, and was enchanted by the beautiful Marc Chagall windows at the church's quire. Chagall created five stained glass images, which were installed in 1970, and I can recommend that you check them out if you are in Zürich.Tonight's venue is in sharp contrast to last night's church. We will be performing in Lindau's Stadttheater, which has much drier acoustics. As Chris wrote in his blog, the programme for these concerts combine various different styles of music. Our a cappella contribution is a songbook of madrigals from around Europe. CHAARTS then play a wonderful work called Songbook by Daniel Schnyder, who also plays the saxophone in these concerts. The second half features music from the Great American Songbook, including some new scorings of our GAS titles, for KS, violins, violas, cellos, bass and kit, plus Daniel playing saxophone and flute. Tomorrow we will give the last performance of this mini-tour in Liestal, near Basel. Then we head back home for a night before heading to Ipswich and Cumnock Tryst. After that we get a few days at home - quite welcome after a busy patch right from the start of term!
