Great to be back in D.C. so soon after we were last here only a few months ago in January. And so soon after the snow blizzard and sub-zero temperatures we were experiencing only a couple of days ago in Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska! We've definitely got a spring back in our step...!One of the remarkable things I have now come to associate with coming to this city is how much of an event landing into Ronald Reagan Airport is. A few miles before touch-down, you get a magnificent view of the Washington Monument and the Capitol building on the left-hand side of the plane - which never fails to remind me of that classic film, "Independence Day" - and then moments later, the pilot has to make a sharp right-turn in order to angle the plane to the runway - a rather alarming experience the first time! Presumably there are aviation restrictions on flying too close to the national monuments and/or the city centre.Anyway, enough rambling from me for one week. Very much looking forward to a day at NPR and getting stuck into other KS GOLD publicity tomorrow!
