Vallee de Joux, Switzerland

As I mentioned in last week's blog, we are now into the season of summer festivals, and all that goes with them - relaxed drinks receptions, dreamy venues and warm, happy audiences.Or not... as we arrived to a Swiss valley full of thunderstorms and torrential rain, this afternoon! Still, this is an unusual festival for us - five ensembles each taking a short slot in concerts across the weekend, including the choir of Jesus College, Cambridge (some home support for us) and an Italian group that we coached some years ago at our biennial residency in Schleswig-Holstein.Hey ho. Let it rain, says I, as we'll still enjoy the marvellous hospitality of our hosts, who keep plying us with refreshments and seem happy to take care of our every concern. It'll be good to hear the other groups tonight and feel part of a larger performance.Last week, I also mentioned the ongoing mixing process for our new Christmas album. You'll be pleased to hear that we're almost ready to sign off the project, meaning it will go to be mastered and pressed next week - making it ready well in advance of the projected November release. Watch this space (and our Facebook page!) for news of the disc, including special bonus digital download tracks and the chance to hear us perform the repertoire live this Christmas across North America!
