I must say we are being spoilt by our concert schedule this week. On Saurday we performed in a lovely church in Appiano Gentile - a small town near Como in northern Italy. Yesterday we sang an afternoon concert in the Conservatorio di Guiseppe Verdi in Turin, followed by dinner in one of our favourite restaurants - La Lampara. Today it's the Teatro alla Pergola in Florence. Then on Thursday we'll be in the Salle Gaveau in Paris, before heading to Versailles on Friday, followed by a concert in Oswestry back in the UK on Saturday.Turin and Florence are probably the two places in Italy that I've visited most frequently in my time in the KS, and both have fantastic audiences (along with fantastic food and fantastic buildings). They will also be the venues for my last two Italian concerts with the KS. The person responsible for our Italian tours is our marvellous Italian agent, Denise Petriccione. As well as managing our Italian tours, Denise is the fastest translator of texts I know. I prepare the announcements, and send them off for translation. Within a very short time, they're back in my inbox ready for formatting and printing.I'm going to miss these trips to Italy, not least because of the enthusiasm of the audiences. We have great audiences around the world, but a good ovation from an Italian audience is rather special.
