We’re now more than halfway through our North American tour, and have performed the second of our two Canadian concerts. Saturday’s was in Ottawa’s Christchurch Cathedral, and Sunday’s was in Toronto’s Koerner Hall. It was a second visit to both venues for us, and both were packed with people. In Ottawa we were guests of the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival. The Toronto venue, Koerner Hall, has become one of our favourite concert halls since our first visit, and a second visit did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm. It was opened just over 4 years ago, and seats around 1100 people. It is housed in a stylish modern extension to the Royal Conservatory, and judging by the comments of the audience members I spoke to, it is as lovely to listen to music there as it is to perform. We hope to be able to be back in both Ottawa and Toronto soon, not to mention Canada’s other great cities. It is quite a busy trip, with a further 6 concerts between now and next Sunday. Our next stop is in North Carolina before our WQXR Greene Space show in New York on Tuesday evening. Then we’re heading back west to Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri, before our last concert of the year in Washington National Cathedral.
