Just arrived at the hotel here in the centre of Tampere after our two Finnair flights from London via Helsinki. I was slightly apprehensive about trying the Reindeer baps that were being offered around onboard the plane... But after consulting my two Finnish neighbours and checking with them that this is in fact Kosher (figuratively speaking), I decided to give it a go. Not too shabby! But I think I'll leave any true judgement until I try the real deal in a proper restaurant at some point in the next few days.My first impression of autumnal Finland: cold (about minus four degrees Celsius), dark and not many people around (compared to London in any case!). To be fair, it's after midnight and we're in Scandinavia... So on second thoughts, I guess this does in fact add up!I've spent most of today going over the eight or so non-GAS numbers which we're performing in tomorrow's all-memory concert - namely the spirituals and a couple of close-harmony ones, e.g. Gershwin's 'Love is here to stay', which is now of course obstinately staying put at the front of my mind. Should consequently have some nice dreams though...
