Today we awoke for our last touring day in South Africa ahead of a free weekend and the flight back to London. It's been a truly amazing week - in 13 years of touring I've never experienced one quite like this.First and foremost, the organisation was incredible and we loved spending the week with our three hosts (Erika, Peet and Kobus) from NWU in Potchefstroom. They have become firm friends and we're excited already to be thinking about a return trip.Secondly, I remember from my first trip here (back in 1998 when at university) the warmth of the people and the fascinating history of this country. This hasn't changed; a lot has developed over the past two decades, but the people are as friendly and welcoming as ever. And lastly, the audiences were phenomenal. Generous with their applause, and interesting to chat with after each concert, this was the icing on the cake as far as our touring experience is concerned. Today's wine-tasting brings us firmly into the "play" section of the tour but, in all truth, the entire week has been such a pleasure that it's been difficult to believe we're here to work :)
