What an amazing building! This was my first impression yesterday, as I departed the underground station at Kilburn and saw this magnificent Church. The spire is more than 77 metres high and the ornate features inside are truly remarkable. It was a joy to sing in there yesterday on our first day of recording and I can't wait to return in a few hours to start the process again. This Palestrina repertoire is stunning music to sing - so passionate and the word-painting is incredibly intricate. Keep an eye out for some more sound clips on our Facebook site over the coming days. It's wonderful to have Nigel Short producing this album for us. As David mentioned, Nigel was a former colleague of his, but more to the point he used to stand in my position!! I am a huge fan of Nigel's voice and even before I joined The KS, I had lots of his solo discs. It is certainly a voice that I admire and the groups recording of The Triumphs of Oriana, during Nigel's time as second countertenor, still remains one of my all-time favourites. No pressure then!!
