I can’t believe it’s Monday once again, and we’re more than halfway through November. It has been a rather busy few weeks, with very short stops at home between our travels around Europe. At the end of this week we start a longer break to catch our breath before the trip to America and Canada. Before then we have this evening’s concert in Sosnowiec in southern Poland. Tomorrow we head back to London, appearing early tomorrow evening on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune. Bright and early on Wednesday morning Chris G and I will be at the US Embassy for our annual Visa appointment, followed by two short performances at the Christmas Ideal Home Show Exhibition in Earls Court (that’s with all six of us!). Thursday takes us up to Manchester to perform at the Royal Northern College of Music, and on Friday we head to Merseyside for a workshop in St Helens.For now, I must go and look at some music. We are singing some Polish Baroque music this evening by Grzegorz Gorczycki. He composed a large amount of church music in the stile antico, and after studies in Prague and Vienna, spent much of his working life in southern Poland. I must also revise a bit of Christmas repertoire for Wednesday. A seventeenth century Missa Rorate and an arrangement of Let it Snow seem an odd combination…
