Yesterday was my 28th birthday! It was the first time in my four years with the KS that I've been away on tour on my birthday since it normally falls within our Easter holidays - but this year, Easter came unusually early. So, what better way to to celebrate than going for a sashimi bday brunch with Johnny (sensibly featuring green tea rather than champagne), taking in some Californian sunshine and singing in the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St Joseph with my colleagues. It happened to be my turn to choose our final group of close harmony numbers at the end of the concert, so singing Sir Richard Rodney Bennett's beautiful arrangement of Harold Arlen's "It's a new world" added to the magic of the day.We had the pleasure of having most of the members of San-Francisco-based a cappella ensemble, Chanticleer, in attendance, so it was great to finally meet them and get to know them afterwards, having always heard so much about them on the grapevine!Heading to Seattle today, where I've been to just once before in my first year in the group. Looking forward to visiting a favourite Italian restaurant tonight and coming to terms with the insanely high number of Starbucks there are downtown!
