Reutlingen, Germany

We've had a fairly pleasant day all-in-all: 5 hours of productive work onboard three different, sun-filled IC/ICE trains from the north to the south-west of Germany (which involved a change at Heidelberg - my German alma mater, so got me rather excited!); a three-hour-long rehearsal with orchestra (The Württembergische Philharmonie) for tomorrow's GAS concert, conducted by the Swede, Ola Rudner, with whom we had a really nice chat during the break; and then after a filling, typically south-German meal of Kartoffelsuppe, Schweinemedaillons and Schnitzeln at a local brewery called BarFüßer, back to the hotel for more work - specifically preparing for tomorrow's meeting on ideas for our 50th Anniversary year in 2018.Great to be in Germany again - I feel a strong connection with this country ever since my year at Heidelberg University, so it's wonderful to be back and to be able to put my German language to use. Also a pleasure to be singing so many songs in German, such as the Comedian Harmonist numbers coming up in our concert at the Berlin Konzerthaus next Wednesday...
