Hello,To describe today's weather, I would say that it has some of the best elements of a typical New Zealand winter's day - bright blue sky - and also elements of Antarctica - unbelievably cold. You see, our maritime climate in NZ means we have rather mild winters compared with some of the Northern Hemisphere offerings.We arrived here in Bloomington, Illinois yesterday and it was really nice to have an evening to myself. It was made particularly nice by the fact that our luggage finally arrived in Chicago ahead of our arrival there. What a joy to be reunited with her!So we're just leaving to go to a rehearsal ahead of our show tonight and we will be premiering my predecessor, Philip Lawson's new commission of poetry by James Joyce. It will be wonderful to have Phil in the audience on what is a rather special day for him (FYI his birthday) so we are all looking forward to that.We had a fabulous workshop the other day with KOR and the Madison Singers, two choirs based at James Madison University in Harrisonburg.
