Pensacola, FL

I love the sun.Even though it's winter here in Florida, the sun definitely shines brighter than it does in England. Yesterday I went for a run along the beach, as I will do today. I am hoping for a tan - even though it's actually only 14°C outside (or 57°F for those of you who prefer Fahrenheit). We've just completed the longest journey I've ever made in North America: from Yellowknife, NWT, to Pensacola, down here in Florida. I won't be needing my down jacket again this trip, but it was definitely necessary up north, with temperatures as low as -38°F when we left for Yellowknife Airport at 4:30am on Thursday morning. I'm looking forward to California now - where we are for a week at the end of this trip - and, just in time, the temperature is set to rise to 91°F this week in LA. I'm not complaining (although I might if I lived there).Last night was a special occasion. On Monday, David celebrates the 26th anniversary since his first concert in the group - but as we're busy then, we decided we wanted to celebrate last night instead. We thought the concept of a career anniversary might be quite difficult to explain to a waiter, so yesterday we all went out for dinner on the premise that it was David's birthday. I ate the largest oyster I've genuinely every seen in my life, and we *all* (and this is one of the most unlikely events ever) had pudding. I can still taste the sweet goodness of my ice-cream-and-berry-and-chocolate-sauce-filled praline basket. De-licious. But now you understand why I need to go on this run.Tomorrow we're flying back to Dallas for a show in Durant, OK for Valentine's Day. I hope each of you has a lovely day - irrespective of whether you have a Valentine to share it with or not.I look forward to writing this next week from some glaring Californian sun. Until then!
