I wanted to take this opportunity in this, my penultimate KS blog to tell you about one future plan taking shape in 'life after the KS'.Many of you will know that on May 30th this year, my colleagues generously donated their time for my local, farewell concert here in Great Gransden. We raised £9000 for my friend's charity, www.sarahs-spirit.com which supports under-privileged children around the world. On Sept. 22nd, just as the KS return to start their new season, I shall be setting out on my mountain bike from Cape Wrath, the most northwesterly point of the mainland British Isles, with my final destination some 750 miles south in Dover, southeast England. My aim is to raise a substantial amount of money for such a worthy cause, to do something I've long wanted to do, and to see some of the most beautiful parts of our country from ground level, rather than flying over it or driving through it at high speed! I feel as though I've been given a precious gift - the gift of time, before I get really busy again in the autumn, and if you want to follow my progress or support me in any way, you can find me on 'social media' or my website. It'll be strange not starting a new season with the KS, but it's symbolic that the guys will be starting a fresh chapter just as I begin one of my own.Paul.
