Paris

What a wonderful city this is!We arrived yesterday afternoon after comfortably sitting on a train for a couple of hours and in the evening we were treated to a typical Parisian reception! The Salle Gaveau has to be one of my favourite venues in the world. It's a very intimate concert hall but the acoustics are simply perfect for a cappella music. There are beautiful tiered balconies which add to the dramatic setting and we really do all love coming back here to the very warmest of crowds.Today we travel to Angers for a performance in Le Grand Théâtre d'Angers. We begin the concert with one of my favourite set of pieces by the great Goff Richards - a collection of wonderful arrangements of folksongs from the Auvergne region of France. We sang one of them, Le Baylére, as part of our Postcards set last night, and it really is a stunning piece. It tells the story of two shepherds calling out to one another from either side of a valley. One says to the other that all is well and that they can both now sleep in peace. If you haven't heard it before, check it out on itunes. All the best and see you soon!
