Munich, Germany

What a lovely time we've had on this fortnight-long tour of Poland, Hungary and Germany, capped off today with a wonderful audience in a very full Prince Regent Theatre (Prinzregententheater) for tonight's concert featuring our "Postcards" programme, which we hadn't done in a while. This reminds me that it's the *variety* of music and venues that we cover in this job which helps to keep everything we do so fresh, which as a performer of over 120 concerts a year, is very important! The audience particularly enjoyed hearing their own German Postcard, the comical "Mein kleiner grüner Kaktus" (which ends up going at a fair lick in the recapitulation!), towards the end of the concert, and we had a great time chatting with them afterwards. I was also very happy that my parents could be there this evening, having flown over from London for a mini-holiday to Munich. It's only the second KS concert my father has seen...so far! We're off back home tomorrow, before a concert with the Salvation Army's Hendon Band in London (Cadogan Hall) on Saturday; then Salamanca, Dresden and Hanover next week, followed by a week or so of rest, before a three-week tour of Asia!
