We're in Switzerland for the first of two visits here this December. Yesterday we performed in one of the beautiful acoustics of the Kultur-und Kongress-Zentrum in Luzern. The lake-side, right outside the KKL was looking wonderful last night as we headed back to the hotel, illuminated by Christmas decorations. We are enjoying our European Christmas tour, although it's surprisingly warm for December. As yet, there's been very little snowfall in the Alps, and many ski resorts are not yet open, but with the Christmas markets busy in the towns and cities of Germany and Swtizerland, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. On Saturday we performed in the Basilica in St Blasien. This small South German town has a vast church, which was once the centrepiece of a large Benedictine monastery (it's now a school), and despite the size of the community, we had a packed church for the concert. It has been interesting singing the same programme in widely varied venues, from concert halls to Cathedrals. Tonight see us in another church here in Switzerland, this time at the Abbaye de Bonmont, a former Cistercian monastery, which is close to the border with France. Then tomorrow we fly to Leipzig for the last concert in a run of five, and taking place in another great concert hall, the Gewandhaus. Then we have a day off before our last three concerts in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany), Kraków (Poland) and Bern (Switzerland). After that we can go back to the UK to get ourselves ready for Christmas at home.
