London, UK

Hi all!Hope you are all well and wrapping up warm if you're reading this anywhere in Europe at the moment!!So today it's off to the recording studio for an upcoming music video of Horizons. This piece was written for The King's Singers back in 1995 and is a real crowd favourite. It was composed by the Dutch-South African composer, Peter Louis van Dijk, and this piece takes its inspiration from a San Bushman cave painting which dates back to the 1700s. This painting depicts in incredible detail a European sailing boat arriving in the Western Cape region of South Africa. The San had lived for many thousands of years in harmony with their environment, but welcomed the new arrivals in peace. However within a short period of time the San bushman population had been decimated by new disease and slaughter. Horizons celebrates the San's humility and peacefulness, as well as lamenting their demise at the hands of so-called progress.Watch this space for the music video coming out later this year. It might surprise you, that's all I'm going to say for now! :)
