London, UK

Last week we had the King's Singers biennial Summer School. This was my first time ever doing a substantial amount of teaching and coaching one-on-one (c. four hours per day), and so although I was anxious beforehand to see how I'd fare, it turned out to be one of the most rewarding (albeit tiring) experiences yet! The participants were highly engaged and enthusiastic, not to mention musical, so this all contributed to a mutually beneficial and enjoyable week.It has been a nice few days of down-time at home since then (in spite of the fairly miserable weather), and now preparing to go away for our final, 12-day tour of term, leaving for Nice (France) tomorrow afternoon, and thereafter visiting Italy, Germany, Holland, Austria and Switzerland. Oh how I love touring around Europe in summer!
