Having returned from our concert in Avignon yesterday, it was lovely to wake up today back in my bed at home to a glorious autumnal day! Not a cloud in the sky, and the tinges of autumn starting to spread. Vic and I decided to make the most of the weather and cycled through Hyde Park which was just idyllic, past the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace Gardens (one of the fanciest streets in London with lots of Ambassador's residences, etc.) and on to Kensington High Street, where we popped into the new Japan House, which I'd been meaning to visit since it opened earlier this year. The restaurant upstairs with its various 'omakase' menus looked amazing; note to self to have dinner there one time (ASAP)!Speaking of Japanese food, I'm currently making some katsu curry at home, which I've basically had every week since I was born... it never gets old! For some reason the time when I had katsu curry with my colleague Johnny in the Japanese mountain ski resort of Naeba back in January 2016 is coming to mind... it makes literally the perfect après ski meal, complete with a large, refreshing glass of Sapporo.Anyway, I'm going to get on with enjoying the rest of my final evening at home for the next fortnight or so. Looking forward to Kleve (Northern Germany) tomorrow, where my old flatmate from my Heidelberg days comes from!
