London Heathrow Terminal 5

Hello everybody,As I sit with David before we board our flight, I'm enjoying reminiscing about last week's Summer School at Royal Holloway. The singers came from more than 21 countries and they sang their hearts out! Particular highlights include the session taken by Dr Stephen Darlington on the Eton Choirbook, not to mention Eric Whitacre's session on his own music. The speed at which nearly 70 singers came together, in a matter of days, to sing in a blended and musical way, was terrific. There was also an impressive array of acts at the Cabaret on the last night. We hard various instruments including harp, violin and cuban guitar, along with vocal ensembles of all sizes. Some were serious, some hilarious and others beyond description! So, the last eight concerts of the season. Five countries and as many languages to boot. Some a cappella, some with orchestra. Being back in the Concertgebouw for the second time this year will be amazing and I'm also looking forward to finishing off in Gstaad, Switzerland. Like numerous blogs where I've mentioned the feeling I have in returning to venues for the second or third time, this beautiful town has happy memories for me. Last time we were there, Chris G's suit didn't arrive so he borrowed some unsuspecting Swiss man's grey suit which did not fit...at all!Hope to see as many of you as possible at an upcoming concert. The diary is constantly updated so keep an eye on it and we'll see you soon!Bye for now!My recorder playing didn't quite make the grade for the Cabaret!
