Hello everyone,I hope you are well. We have now been in lockdown for 52 days and I don't know about you, but I am finding it tough! I am severely missing my colleagues in so many ways; music making with them, travelling together and the incessant laughter! But I am so grateful to the many people who are keeping our world going during this unprecedented time. They are helping to make sure all of our lives get back to normal as quickly as possible. As our friends in the UK will know, everyone in the country goes out onto their doorstep on a Thursday night at 8 pm to clap for our Carers and National Health Service to thank them for all they are doing. It is a wonderful experience! My family have met new neighbours, enjoyed the once-a-week opportunity to see other people (there are six of us in my house at the moment!), and we have all felt really quite emotional at the strange, yet now familiar, spectacle of everyone on our street gathering for this moment! Unless I finish this blog soon, I'll miss tonight's clap...I can see some light at the end of the tunnel now though. Earlier in the week the UK Government very slightly eased our lockdown rules. This has meant that I have been able to visit my boyfriend for the first time in 9 weeks! It has been so difficult being separated at precisely the moment we needed each other most. But our two outdoor walks so far (albeit at 2 metres distance) have been wonderful. And on Saturday I am going to leave my car with him so that he can come to see me too, and have some freedom of his own!I hope you have been enjoying the music we have been making whilst at home. I am very very impressed at the clever people who are managing to mix our separate tracks each recorded in isolation. We have many more plans up our sleeves so keep an eye out on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.Until the next time, and keep safe,EddieInstagram: @edwardbutton1p.s. for the eagle-eyed blog-readers amongst you, I will be filling in the gap between lockdown blog 30 and 33! Just give me some time to do a few more stats :-)
