Good morning from sunny Oxford! It's been very nice having a few days off singing. It's allowed me to catch up on some admin, of which there is always a constant stream on my to-do lists. I'm heading over to my Grandma's house today to collect some of her belongings and say goodbye to the house before it's put on the market. I have very happy memories of my visits to Pirton. She knew the entire village and, at 101, had outlived almost all her closest friends. However, she was never short of visitors and always appreciated people popping in to have a cuppa and a chat. She had wonderful stories and I always made a beeline for the snakes and ladders board so we could play a few games. It's an ancient set and is now one of my most treasured possessions.I met up with Johnny yesterday at a wonderful new pop-up cafe just off the High Street in Oxford, situated next to Mission Burrito, called Jericho Coffee Traders. We had some things to discuss about work and it was convenient to sit directly in front of the 'best chocolate brownie' Johnny'd EVER tasted! I strongly urge anyone visiting to go there and have coffee and cake. The Rose and Pistachio cake and the Tiramisu cake are heavenly! Did I mention the chocolate brownies too?!Thank you for the kind birthday wishes. My colleagues were very generous too and I shall look forward to using the steak knives and A'Rom-Moulin gros sel herbes de Provence this weekend. So, Jules' first Masterpiece is on Friday. Wish him well, it's going to be fun! That's about it for me. Just finishing up some emails before hitting the road. Bye for now :-)
