It occurred to me when my alarm went off at 0430 this morning, that there won't be many more occasions now when I have to get up so early on a concert day to catch a plane. As I look back over the years I can recall many such times, and yet today, having had a few days of rest, after last Friday's 'home' concert, I feel rested and relaxed, especially now the cold that I brought back from Hong Kong has nearly passed.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everybody who made my 'thank you' concert possible, not least my fellow KS who gave their time so generously. The good news is that we raised just under £9000 for my friend Mark's charity: 'Sarah's-Spirit' which will go a long way towards the goal of building a dormitory for the orphaned children who make up Watoto Choir. I'm enormously grateful to you all, and overwhelmed by the kindness and support of everybody who came along to Great Gransden to enjoy a wonderful concert. It was a special evening, and one of the highlights of my 2000-concert KS career. Thank you!
Yours truly coming so own with a cold on the Star Ferry in HK
My friends, setting up before the concert.
