We’re about to fly back to London after our stay in Finland. It has been a great trip, with four enjoyable shows in four lovely concert halls, finishing last night in Helsinki’s Musikkitalo. It has also been our first taste of cold weather after the summer, and we even saw our first snow on the ground as we drove to Jyväskylä on Saturday morning. For all four concerts we performed the Great American Songbook, and it was Julian’s first all memory concerts – quite a feat after so few concerts.Today, once back in London, we will spend a few hours rehearsing for a new Psalms programme, which debuts in Dresden next weekend, and we will also work on a new commission for a concert the following week. Then we’ll all head to our homes for a couple of nights before the next trip, this time to Germany.
