I'm just about to board the flight to Chicago to start our North American trip. I have to admit it was rather stressful getting here. I made the mistake of trying my usual shortcut past Terminal 5. For some unknown (to me) reason it took 40 minutes to travel 500 metres from the M25 to the roundabout near Terminal 5. I then crawled around Heathrow to park the car, and checked in 90 minutes after leaving the motorway. Luckily I have left plenty of time, but even so, it was a bit of a shock to my system. All is calm now, and I'm looking forward to a few hours of no mobile phone, and a movie or two, plus the paper and my book. In Chicago we connect with a flight to Sioux Falls, before driving to Brookings, North Dakota. I also love these Christmas trips. I am also hoping to get a bit of Christmas shopping done along the way, as I've done nothing so far. If I fail to do this, I will be stressed once again on the 24th December trying to buy a load of presents.Must dash!
