Happy Saturday! The ground outside has been covered in a thick white carpet of snow since I turned my light out last night. We've become quite accustomed to sub-zero Fahrenheit temperatures over the last few days (I think -7 overnight in Minneapolis was the most extreme), but we'd yet to see snow actually falling until yesterday evening, after our show in the Kresge Auditorium at DePauw University was over (which was an absolute joy, by the way). Today, we're off to the Gateway to the West, St Louis, which is fitting, as we head only West from there: to Kansas and then on to Oklahoma and Utah, before flying home from LA. One of the things that has struck me most about this trip is how much stuff I take on every tour that I never actually use. While our bags were lost in the baggage vortex at Chicago Airport for three days, all of us lived with just the few belongings we had with us in our hand luggage (plus a few extras we had to buy to look decent on stage). What struck me during this period of baggagelessness was how little I needed the contents of my suitcase once they had been retuned to me. I think I need to learn to be more strict with myself when I"m filling my suitcase....Anyway, I must be off. I'm sharing a car with David and Chris B today, and no one like to be late for David....Speak soon!
