Goudhurst, UK

Well hello everybody! It's the start of a fresh new term and, after a very successful rehearsal yesterday with Pat and the others, it's the first concert of term today!Whenever it's a new members first show it can't help remind you of your own. I have such hugely fond memories of my first time on stage with The KS in January 2009 at The Stationer's Hall in London. The public were there eagerly awaiting to see the new line-up and then out we went - I gave it my best shot and they all seemed to enjoy it! There was, however, a moment of utter terror as I recognised a gentleman sitting in the front row wearing a rather colourful bow tie. I knew I had seen him before somewhere but couldn't place him. As the concert went on, his face became more familiar until the point of realisation - it was AL HUME! ONE OF FOUNDING MEMBERS AND THE ORIGINAL SECOND COUNTERTENOR!! I had recognised him from all the YouTube videos I had been watching over the previous Summer to help me learn all the piles of KS music! Anyway, after a slightly clammy brow, I ploughed on and tried to get my mind back on the close harmony memory pieces in the concert! That seems like it happened yesterday....Pat's going to be fantastic tonight and I wish him all the luck in the world and many, many happy years in The KS. It truly is the best job in the world.Bye for now....
