Frankfurt Airport, Germany

Much of what The King's Singers do on a daily basis can be quite glamorous, I admit. Performing in beautiful churches and world-famous concert halls. eating wonderful food from around the world. But sitting in airports is not one of those glamorous things. Right now, I'm parked in Frankfurt Airport, after our flight from Hannover arrived late. We've been moved onto the next flight to Geneva - which arrives in plenty of time for the concert in Thones tonight, don't you worry - but this still means an extra two hours of airport food and dubious WiFi. First world problems, I agree, but it's still a bit of a bore. What wasn't a bore was our time in Hannover over the last three days. We had the great joy of performing with the NDR Radiophilharmonie, and they are wonderful. It's so exciting when you have a run of several concerts really to perfect a collaborative performance, and in this case we've got five more shows together in July: two in Schleswig-Holstein; one in Amsterdam; one in Wiesbaden; and one at an open-air festival in Grafenegg, just outside Vienna. It's going to be a lot of fun.Next week we're in Cambridge. Do come and see us if you can - it's lots of amazing Palestrina on the cards...which is a little bit different to the Great American Songbook repertoire we've otherwise been performing this month!
