We're off to Paris today for one of our regular appearances at the Salle Gaveau this evening as part of the series run by our French management, Concerts Parisiens. We always have a wonderful audience there, so I'm greatly looking forward to our brief stay in Paris. Tomorrow we head to Angers on the beautiful River Loire, before heading back to the UK on Wednesday in readiness for our UK concert later in the week in London, Blandford and Winchester. The last concert will be a home one for me, taking place in my old school. We'll be joining musicians from the school, including the school's 6 voice ensemble, Cantores Episcopi, with whom I cut my Close Harmony teeth. We'll also join the Quiristers (the trebles from Chapel Choir) for a performance of Francis Pott's "Hands across the darkness" premiered late last year by the KS and the Hannover Girls' Choir.
I've had a lovely few days at home after the Polish trip and our concert at Royal Holloway College (where we sang with the College's excellent Choir under the direction Rupert Gough). On Friday most of us joined with everyone at Music Productions, plus most of the staff at Signum Records, along with other friends for an evening of fun at London's Comedy Store. It was lovely to spend some time with all the people we work with during the year, but with no pressure to get anything sorted!
For now, I must turn my attention to James MacMillan's "A Rumoured Seed" which we're singing this evening.
