Hello all - Pat here, doing my first blog post, on my first day, as first countertenor.. lots of firsts!Today the 'new 6' met up in a church in London's Mayfair, to spend a few hours rehearsing repertoire for this week's concerts. Tomorrow's is the first one of the term, and it's in Goudhurst, Kent. A couple of days later we are over to Brescia in Italy, then to Merthyr Tydfil in Wales shortly after, and we finish the week in Sion, Switzerland. It's quite nice to get straight into the swing of the job with a typically hectic travelling schedule, fitting in 4 concerts in 4 different countries! But with a really productive rehearsal today, I'm feeling mega-excited about getting into my suit tomorrow and getting to perform to a live audience for the first time as a King's Singer: what a privilege.There's so much more I could say, but there'll be plenty more opportunities. For now I need to iron my shirt, charge my iPad, and get an early night ready for my first concert day... See you soon!
