Brescia, Italy

Well, here we are. Our first foreign concert of the new season, and Pat's first trip abroad as a member of the group. Italy is a wonderful place to get involved with touring: the food is excellent, the people are incredibly friendly, and audiences simply love getting into the spirit of a concert. The whole thing feels like a bit of a party! Last night was no exception. A typically beautiful Italian Opera House and a great reception from an audience including some old friends of the group, come to check out the new boy. Pat certainly didn't disappoint; in the two concerts thus far he's had to learn a lot of music from memory (certainly more than I had to for my first few shows) and is bedding in really well. We worked on sound and blend in yesterday's rehearsal and today return to the UK for an afternoon with former KS Nigel Short, producer of our forthcoming 50th Anniversary discs. This weekend sees us head to Wales and Switzerland for two varied concerts: on Saturday we appear with a male voice choir in Merthyr Tydfil, and on Sunday we find ourselves nestling in the Alps as we re-visit Sion, a beautiful place and a real favourite of ours. We all hope that many of you are able to see us live this season, and look forward to meeting you as we travel around the world.
