Flanking the Garonne River, the views of which are best from the many bridges that cross it, the city encapsulates almost all the things I love most about France. I'm delighted we were able to fly out a day before our concert - a rare luxury - to be able to enjoy the city, as well as too prepare for tomorrow's concert: Jules' first abroad.Tomorrow's programme is one of my absolute favourites, even though it's one of our most serious: Gesualdo's Tenebrae Responsories for Maundy Thursday, sung all the through, with all the repeats, without an interval.
