So after a very enjoyable tour we're back home recovering and getting our voices ready to sing again on Friday. It's always a very special moment when you walk out to a 'home' audience, of which you probably know 99% of the people! An audience like this is far more nerve-wracking than a concert hall filled with thousands of people you've never seen before!! Of course, as David mentioned, I'm talking about singing at Chelmsford Cathedral this Friday. I grew up singing there are as boy, from the age of around 6 and a half, and it was here that my passion for singing started. I have such incredibly fond memories of singing in this wonderful building and I'm immensely proud to go back, now for the second time, as a member of The King's Singers. In fact, it was in this Cathedral, that I first heard The KS singing back in the early '90s. I went with my father to the concert and remember being amazed at the variety of repertoire that the group performed. Little did I know then, that I'd be singing with them 20 years later! On Saturday, Gemma and I will be having a wedding blessing in the Cathedral. Lots of our friends and family couldn't make the long trip over to NZ for our actual wedding in January, so we wanted to have a UK celebration too. It's going to be such fun to see lots of our nearest and dearest there - Gemma's parents have even made the long trip over for the second instalment, so it's going to be great to enjoy the day with both of our families present. Can't wait! Let's hope for decent weather. Pics to follow for sure!!
