We've made it safely back home after our trip to Qatar, The Philippines and China, arriving on Saturday afternoon. It was a great trip, taking in some amazing places. Highlights for me include the visit to the Souk in Doha for dinner, the Intramuros, or old town, in Manila, and the ever-changing sky-line of Shanghai, which this time we saw in bright sunshine, with clear air. For the next couple of weeks we stay in the UK, with five home concerts. On Friday we sing in Chelmsford Cathedral, where Tim was a chorister, then on Saturday we join Tim and Gemma to celebrate their marriage. The following week we head to west Wales (St Davids Cathedral), followed by Sheffield (St Marie's Cathedral), Swaledale Festival (St Andrew's Church, Grinton), and Peterborough's Broadway Theatre. For now, I'm sorting a few things out at home, and getting back into the UK timezone. Jetlag is an odd thing: I always set my watch on to the new time as I get on the plane, and generally I find going west easier than going east, but some trips are easier than others. There seems to me to be no rhyme or reason in how you deal with the time change, but I'm glad to report that so far this time I seem to have adapted easily; possibly I've spoken too soon.
