We’re back on tour once more, this time to the lovely city of Riga, the capital of Latvia, and the current European Capital of Culture. This year’s World Choir Games is taking place here, and we are attending to take part in three performances, and to lead some workshops. Tonight we give our own solo recital in the Arena Riga, and then on Wednesday we join with Latvian Voices to sing some British and Latvian folksongs, arranged for this event by the Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds.
It has been a short turn-around at home after our trip to Australia and New Zealand, but I’m glad to report that I have not had much of an issue with jet-lag. I slept for over 8 hours on Tuesday night, and woke without the help of any alarms at 07.00. I don’t know why it was so easy this time, but I’m not going to complain. I just wish the learning of the notes and words for Eriks’ songs was as easy!
