As Johnny wrote on Saturday, we had a great couple of days in Cambridge at the end of last week. After our trip to Germany and the Netherlands, we drove to Cambridge straight from Heathrow Airport. On Thursday afternoon we workshopped (quoting Johnny) with The King's Men, the King's choral scholars' excellent a cappella ensemble. Friday was pretty busy, starting with our rehearsal in King's Chapel at 11am, followed by the afternoon's "A Carol for Christmas" event. We then had a bit of time off before the evening's concert, followed by a charity dinner. An added frisson for the concert was that it was recorded, and is now (or will soon be) available for download on iTunes under the title "Christmas Presence".We have a couple of days off before heading to Oviedo on Tuesday, after which we head back to Germany, before heading to Switzerland and Poland. We've still another nine concerts to perform before Christmas, including one in Bern with the amazing oboist, Albrecht Mayer, which gives us a chance to perform the repertoire from our joint CD, "Let it snow".
