The next King’s Singers UK Summer School is coming in July-August 2019! This time we will be heading to the beautiful surroundings of Cambridge — the city where it all began for The King’s Singers — and will be based in Clare College. Clare is famous for its excellent musical tradition, and is one of the picturesque historic colleges that backs on to the River Cam. We will spend a week there with singers from all over the world, coaching them in the art of ensemble singing, with the help of some very special guests who’ll give workshops and conduct performances. Over the course of the Summer School, participants will have the chance to experience several of the beautiful ancient spaces around the University of Cambridge. As well as honing choral skills in small ensembles, all the participants will come together to sing en masse, and there will of course be a full concert given by us during the Summer School. With The King’s Singers, it’s always 'work hard, play hard’, so there will be many chances to let your hair down with evening activities and time to socialise in and around the singing. Participants will have the chance to really get to know the six members of the group, and to share stories from all around the world. If you’d like to apply to come on this Summer School — either as an individual singer or with an ensemble — please register your interest by emailing Sana at summerschool@intermusica.co.uk with the subject line ‘KS UK 2019’, indicating whether you are an individual singer, or applying on behalf of a group. Sana, or her colleague Kate, will then be in touch with further information and application details in due course.
