After the Summer School

We had such a great time at last week's Summer School at Royal Holloway. There so many highlights: Chris G's fabulous Tuesday quiz; Dr Stephen Darlington's fantastic Wednesday afternoon bringing the music of the Eton Choirbook to life; Eric Whitacre's inspirational Thursday workshop on Sleep and The Seal Lullaby; and Friday's marvellous end of course concert, followed by dinner and cabaret. Thanks to all the singers who joined us, and worked so hard. Thanks to Nicola, Claire, Cathy, Emma, Rupert, Phoebe, Annie and Victoria for all they did to make the week so successful and enjoyable. Check out Twtter and Facebook for lots of videos and pictures from the stay at Royal Holloway. This week we head off on our last trip of the season, visiting Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. The first concert takes place in a beautiful town of Cervo on the Italian Riviera. We will be performing in a square in front of the baroque Church of John the Baptist, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Later in the trip we will be back at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, this time with the orchestral version of our Great American Songbook programme, and our last show of the season takes place at the Yehudi Menuhin Gstaad Festival: So all in all, a rather fine end to the season.
