ACDA Salt Lake City

Well, it's snowing here but no one is worrying because the next flight we take is on Sunday and we'll be coming home!Yesterday was a challenging day - having got to bed so late after driving nearly three hours after the gig - but one that finished on such a high. We got up and drove 30 minutes to Dallas Fort Worth before taking an easy flight to Salt Lake City. After a few hours rest in our rather lovely lodgings we headed to the Salt Lake Tabernacle for a sound check before our two shows that evening. Fast forward to the concert...I can honestly say that I have never before heard such a beautiful silence after singing a piece of music (we opened with Musica Dei Donum by Lassus). I shouldn't have been surprised, given the entire audience were choral aficionados. Still, it was greatly appreciated by us and, judging by their reaction to both concerts, everyone left happy! Each of the shows featured us in the first half and The Real Group in the second half. Ever since I first heard them I've wanted to see them. Loved it!So today is all about the fans and we're about to go to do a signing at the Hal Leonard stand, followed by the Naxos stand and then a special surprise for one group of singers! This has been a terrific tour, both challenging in terms of travel and yet equally rewarding from a musical and educational standpoint. I can't wait to come back in November!Bye for now!
